As a stay- at-home-homeschooling momma, I am always looking for ways to creatively make money. Being on a single income and affected by a down economy, makes this even more vital. Finding things to sell has helped my family afford things we wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. I have purchased the majority of my and my children’s clothes from yard sales, consignment stores, thrift stores, and church consignment sales. Nice stuff. New stuff. Brands I wouldn’t have otherwise afforded. And most of the money is made from reselling things we already own or bought.
15 She gets up while it is still night;

I consider myself a family manager of my home. It is my job to purchase most of the items needed to run a household as well as food and clothing for my family. For the last 18 years, trekking out early on Saturday mornings has been a way to achieve my goal of spending a little and getting a lot. My husband works very hard for our money and I feel like it is my responsibility to stretch it as far as it will go. I take this responsibility very seriously. If well thought out, yard sales are a lot of fun and a great way to get to know your children.

I like the first photo, with the fence. It looks most like a yard to me, very “homey.” The leaves across the top make it look approachable somehow… More fun.

Hi Christina! As a big yardsaler myself, I just wanted to throw my 2¢ in, too. While I love the look of “A” for an eye-catching book cover, my choice goes to”C” for the impression it gives me (dry day because of the fence, clear blue sky) for the perfect Saturday morning to go hunting for those great bargains! Just my opinion. Sounds like a book I’d love to read! 🙂
